Every summer resident dreams of growing powerful bulbs and juicy green feathers that can be chopped into a salad or fried with potatoes.

For the bulbs to be really large, the quality of the soil and weather conditions are important. But fertilizing also plays a significant role.

Experienced gardeners always fertilize onions. Some use folk remedies, others trust more purchased compositions, which will definitely not let you down.

Among folk remedies, gardeners recommend yeast infusion. They say that thanks to it, the bulbs grow larger. In addition, the harvest is especially juicy.

Use 100 g of dry yeast per bucket of warm water. Add a tablespoon of sugar and leave to infuse for 1 hour. Then water the onion with the solution. It will be more effective if the soil was previously moistened with ordinary water.

Those who do not trust folk remedies use these fertilizers to feed onions in spring and summer.

1. Urea. Use 20-25 g of the product per 10 liters of water. Consumption rate is 1-1.5 liters per square meter of plantings.

2. Ammonium nitrate. Use 10-15 g per 10 liters of water. Consumption rate is 1-1.5 liters per “square.”

Another option is mullein. 1 liter of cow manure is diluted in 10 liters of water. The consumption rate is 4-5 liters per square meter. All fertilizers are applied to well-moistened soil.
