When growing any seedlings, summer residents are guided by a simple rule: it is better to underfeed than to overfeed.

At the initial stages of development, the seedling has enough nutrients for full development until the cotyledon leaves open.

When to feed

The first fertilizer can be applied a week after picking. If this procedure is not carried out, then seedlings are fed in the phase of development of 2-3 true leaves.

What to feed

Pepper seedlings need three key elements: nitrogen, phosphorus and magnesium. Each of them plays its own important role.

Nitrogen is responsible for the growth of green mass, phosphorus is responsible for the formation of roots, and magnesium is necessary for the plant throughout the entire development period.

The source of phosphorus is potassium monophosphate. Use 1 teaspoon (with a slide) per 10 liters of water.

Urea will provide the pepper with nitrogen. Take 1 heaping tablespoon per 10 liters of water.

Magnesium sulfate will saturate the seedlings with magnesium - 1 teaspoon (with a slide) per 10 liters of water.

Nuances of introduction

Three fertilizers are not applied at once. They are applied at intervals of 7-10 days. The application rate is 15-20 ml per plant.

The fertilizer will be better absorbed by the roots if you first moisten the soil with plain water.
