When to get and how to germinate dahlia tubers before spring planting

First, dahlias need to be germinated. But how to do this?
Even at the preparatory stage, you need to remove all dried and rotten parts from the tubers, and treat the cuts with brilliant green.
The growing container should be filled with a breathable substrate. For example, this could be peat or sand.
Then the tuber needs to be placed in the substrate. Its upper parts should be above the soil so that the buds can wake up and sprout normally.
It should also be taken into account that the containers must have drainage holes so that all excess moisture can drain away.
It is advisable to place the pots in a bright place where the temperature is from 15 to 18 degrees Celsius or higher. In this case, the flowers will germinate more actively.
All other care is very simple. It is only important to water and spray the plants on time.
