There is nothing to worry about in the presence of ants on currant bushes. Much more dangerous are the consequences of their activity - rapid spread across the site and transfer of aphids.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about preventive measures that should be taken if you do not want to meet with uninvited guests.

Thus, a preemptive strike against ants can be carried out using strong odors.

These insects simply cannot stand a number of aromas, including table vinegar and ammonia.

Therefore, to prevent ants from climbing the currants, the lower stems should be treated with 4% vinegar.

If you decide to use ammonia, then before use it must be diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 10.

The smell of lavender causes the same rejection in ants, so sometimes it is enough to place balls soaked in this aroma in the trunk circles of currants.

Finally, chamomile and mint can come to the rescue in the fight against insects - just plant them near the currant plantings.
