In March, the seedling season reaches its peak: most of the sowing has been done, the seedlings are growing and require more and more attention.

Meticulous gardeners do not leave their plantings unattended for a single day. They regularly assess the condition of the plants and the moisture content of the soil.

Blackleg

This is not a separate plant disease, but a group of ailments, most often caused by a fungus. In affected seedlings, the root collar and stem rot, the leaves wither, and the plant itself subsequently dies.

There are several measures that can help you avoid black leg:

high-quality planting material;
seed treatment;
moderate watering;
not too dense planting.

What to process with

If the disease has affected the seedlings, then it is worth getting rid of the sick plants - they cannot be saved. Even if the seedlings are cured, they will not give a full harvest.

1. Potassium permanganate solution. The soil in the flowerpot is irrigated with a weak solution of potassium permanganate - 0.2 g per 1 liter of water.

2. Fungicides (Vitaros, Previkur Energy).

3. Biological products (“Alirin-B”, “Gamair”, “Baktofit”, “Fitosporin-M”).

4. Folk remedies. Spray the seedlings and soil with soda - 1 teaspoon per glass of water. Sprinkle the soil around the stem with ash or soot.
