If you plan to grow tomatoes in open ground, it will not hurt to know that they require less care than greenhouse ones.

According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , this is due to the fact that the difference between day and night temperatures outside the greenhouse is not as strong as in the hothouse.

In addition, tomatoes that are not grown in greenhouse conditions are less susceptible to various diseases, with the exception, unfortunately, of late blight. But you can practically not be afraid of cladosporiosis.

Finally, for growing in open ground, gardeners can choose varieties of any fruiting duration – from early to late.

In this case, experts advise choosing determinate varieties. There are two reasons for this.

1. They stop growing after the seventh, and more often the fifth or sixth brush appears.

2. Fruit clusters are formed through each leaf, which means that the yield from one “square” will be greater than in the case of growing indeterminate tomatoes.

Preference should be given to varieties and hybrids that are resistant to temperature changes, as well as direct sunlight. Make sure that the selected crops have a powerful green mass with large leaves and strong stems.
