Any gardener knows that pepper seedlings require some work, since the crop itself is capricious and demanding.

However, with the right approach, you can grow strong and healthy seedlings.

Thanks to this, the chances of a bountiful pepper harvest increase significantly, reminds landscape designer and agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti.

Three rules for caring for pepper seedlings that you shouldn't forget

The right amount of light

It is important to remember that peppers are highly dependent on lighting, so growing seedlings without a special lamp is not recommended.

Peppers need 24-hour light for at least the first week and a half.

Afterwards, you can reduce the time to 15 hours.

Temperature and watering

In the first days after planting, the air temperature should be warm - at least 27 degrees. However, after the sprouts appear, the temperature can be reduced by five degrees.

It is important to be careful with watering. Lack of water prevents peppers from developing normally, and excess moisture leads to fungal diseases.

Nutrients

Fertilizers also play an important role in caring for pepper seedlings. After the plant has several leaves, you can "treat" the pepper with any complex fertilizer suitable for the crop.
