The most important time has begun – sowing seeds for seedlings. Everyone who has not sown before the end of February is now interested in additives that allow to increase and accelerate germination.
This is especially true for the popular crops of the nightshade family – tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. Problems with the rest arise less frequently.
It is worth remembering here that much depends not on soaking, but on storing the seeds. If the deadline has passed, the procedures may be ineffective.
In addition, a germination test should be carried out. To do this, the seeds are placed in various solutions and those that remain on the surface of the water are discarded.
If everything is OK in this regard, then gardeners recommend trying the following option for pre-sowing preparation, which significantly reduces the waiting time for seedlings to appear.
To do this, place a cotton pad on the bottom of a glass or other container. Add a little warm water.
The seeds are laid out on a piece of bandage or gauze, placed inside a container, and then filled with water.
The preparation is left for 30 minutes, after which the water is drained and the container is covered with cling film.
Next, the seeds are kept in a room with a temperature of 23-27 degrees Celsius until shoots appear.
Usually, if this does not happen within a week, the seeds are thrown away.
