The Decembrist will never bloom: one condition prevents it from showing buds

The Decembrist is a flowering cactus that has flat leaves instead of thorns.

The plant was named this way because of its ability to surprise with bright flowers in winter, most often in December.

If the flower receives enough attention and care, it can show buds several times a year. But sometimes the Decembrist will not bloom even once in 12 months.

There is one condition under which the plant will remain green. Even with sufficient nutrients, the Decembrist will not bloom.

The flower needs a lot of light to form buds. If it is in a shaded corner, you should not count on abundant flowering.

In winter, the pot with the Decembrist is placed on a southern window, and in summer it is removed away from direct sunlight.

Usually the Decembrist blooms at the end of November, but sometimes at the beginning of the first month of winter. Experts do not advise touching the plant during flowering. You should not even turn it, otherwise the capricious Decembrist may drop all the buds.
