Experienced gardeners know what benefits can be derived from citrus peels if these remains are used to care for plants.

Usually, replenishment of supplies begins in winter. Gardeners eat oranges and dry the peel for later. But you can also prepare a nutritious composition from fresh zest. Here's how to do it.

Fertilizer can be prepared from the zest of tangerines, oranges, lemons. Then the peels need to be chopped with a knife or as convenient, for example, a blender.

The finer the zest is processed, the more nutritious the future infusion will be.

To prepare 2 liters of nutrient mixture, you will need the peel of one medium orange or two medium tangerines.

Place the zest in a glass jar and fill it with water. Here, it is worth paying attention to the quality of the water. Gardeners recommend using melted or rain water, not tap water.

In winter, you can melt snow; in summer, any self-respecting summer resident has a whole barrel of rainwater in his garden.

City residents can get out of the situation by freezing tap water in the freezer and then letting it melt and warm up.

Then the zest is left to infuse at room temperature for 24 hours.

The next day the water will turn yellow-orange. All that remains is to strain the infusion and use it to water indoor plants.
