How to get rid of bindweed before it takes over the entire plot: gardening tricks

The list of weeds that gardeners struggle with is long and varied.

It is not only the common couch grass or horsetail that takes up space in it, but also such a pretty plant as bindweed.

It has decorative properties, but in practice it causes summer residents more trouble than aesthetic pleasure.

Behind the delicate appearance of bindweed lies a real invader that grows at the speed of light.

To support its "occupying ambitions", the plant pulls all the nutrients from the soil and literally sucks out the water. Cultivated plants suffer from this.

Bindweed is difficult to control, but at the first stages it can be done without chemicals. First, you need to weed and then mulch the beds.

In addition, it is important to remember that bindweed likes acidic soil. If this plant actively reproduces on the site, and other crops grow poorly, then the problem is in the acidified soil.

It is enough to add lime, ash, chalk or dolomite flour to move the indicator to the neutral zone. Bindweed will not appreciate this, but other plants will grow better.
