Cucumbers and tomatoes can be combined in a salad, but their proximity in the garden cannot be called ideal.

Some summer residents don’t see anything wrong with such a neighborhood: why not, different beds, different vegetables.

However, in reality, it is not that simple. Gardeners who tried to grow cucumbers and tomatoes in the same greenhouse quickly became disappointed.

Is it possible to grow tomatoes and cucumbers in the same greenhouse?

Cucumbers and tomatoes have different growing conditions. The crops have different requirements for soil moisture and temperature.

Such plants are not the best neighbors when it comes to growing in a greenhouse.

Cucumbers may wither and grow poorly next to tomatoes. If you organize suitable conditions for tomatoes, cucumbers may not like it.

Cucumbers need high humidity and frequent watering, and tomatoes can get sick due to humidity and the yield will decrease sharply.

If you plant crops in open ground, then such a neighborhood will not affect the result in any way.

It can be said that these plants can be in the same greenhouse – a compromise will always be found. But in the end, both sides can lose.

If you plant cucumbers and tomatoes in the same greenhouse, it is better to divide it into sections: give the northern part to cucumbers, and plant tomatoes in the central part under the vents.

Two crops can grow in a greenhouse, but you will have to fight diseases and be content with a weak harvest.
