Spring is a critical period for all plants, not only garden plants, but also indoor flowers and decorative greenery.

After a long hibernation, they cannot do without support, so you should not postpone feeding and experiment with folk remedies or old-fashioned advice.

Experienced gardeners recommend arming yourself with mineral fertilizers for this period, which are needed for flower and decorative home plantings.

First question: when?

Most indoor plants respond to the arrival of spring somewhere in the second half of March, or maybe even earlier.

At this time, metabolic processes accelerate, and therefore the need for nutrients increases, of which there are not many left in the soil over the course of a year.

Important point. It is a mistake to think that only what is blooming needs to be fed. In spring, even cacti and other succulents begin to consume moisture and everything that the soil in the pot is rich in. There is no need to talk about the more fastidious inhabitants of the windowsill flora.

Question two: what to feed

Of course, even if there is something to make it from, it is unlikely that anyone would decide to make an infusion from mullein or chicken manure in their apartment.

Therefore, gardeners recommend not to bother with additives, but to use ready-made fertilizers from garden stores. It is easier to act according to the instructions, so as not to harm the green pets with an overdose.

It is worth noting that in some cases a transplant will be required, before which there is no point in fertilizing.

Without this, you will have to wait a very long time even for green leaves on indoor plants.
