An expert explained why store-bought flowers begin to wilt once they enter an apartment.

It is impossible to avoid this process, but there is no need to rush to throw away withering plants.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti , agronomist and author of the blog Conscious Gardening Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained why flowers on the windowsill lose their attractive appearance a few weeks after purchase.

Many housewives, buying a lushly flowering plant, expect that it will be so all the time. But after 2-3 weeks the flower sheds its leaves and buds.

The problem is not only in large amounts of phosphorus or growth hormones. The secret lies elsewhere.

Plants come to stores from greenhouses, where conditions are very different from those in apartments. Better lighting, nutrient solutions, stimulants - this is only a small part of what flowers receive under the supervision of specialists.

Wilting is most likely inevitable. But this is only a reaction to changing conditions. The flower will get used to the new place, rebuild and continue to delight with flowering. The main thing is not to forget to feed and water.
