Banana Peel Infusion

Method of preparation:

  • First, clean out all the pulp from the inside of the fruit peel, wash it well and scald it with boiling water.
  • Then wash and sterilize a three-liter jar.
  • Boil 3 liters of water and cool to 40 degrees.
  • Place the banana peel in a jar, pour hot water over it, close the lid and place in a dark place for 3 days.
  • After the time has elapsed, strain the infusion and mix with water 1:1

Directions for use:

  • Watering potted plants.
  • Soak the roots for 10 minutes for those plants that grow without support or substrate.
  • Spray the roots of those plants that are attached to the blocks.

Onion decoction

Onions contain an incredible amount of mineral and biological substances that orchids need for their vital functions. These are carotene, phytoncides, mineral salts and vitamins. They have an antibacterial effect, nourish the roots of plants and maintain their tone.

Method of preparation:

  1. Pour 1.5 liters of boiling water over a handful of husks, boil for 6 minutes and leave to cool.
  2. Strain the infusion and use the remaining husks as compost.
  3. Use the infusion for prevention once a month.
  4. You can’t store it; you need to make a fresh infusion every time.

Tea with coffee

Coffee beans and tea leaves contain many useful substances and carbohydrates. The acidity level has a good effect on plant development. Coffee and tea-based fertilizers replace the mineral fertilizers necessary for orchids.

It is used in liquid or dry form. Dry mixture is considered better, as liquid mixture has a risk of mold formation.
