Every year, entire colonies of aphids populate the garden plot.
They are very harmful to plants, so they need to be controlled using various chemicals - insecticides.
They come in 3 types:
These products work well on aphids, but can accumulate in berries and fruits. Therefore, before use, some time is needed for the concentration of the active substance to decrease.
Apples and pears ripen quite late, and processed currants have a short ripening period and after several treatments the berries may contain poison. And if bees live in hives in the garden, such treatment may harm them.
There is a method of dealing with aphids that is safe and easy for everyone.
This is ordinary laundry soap. It dissolves the protective wax layer of aphids, causing the insects to die.
Take 100 grams of 72% laundry soap, preferably with a scent. Grate on a fine grater or crumble with a sharp knife, pour 1 liter of warm water and leave for the soap to dissolve.
Treat garden and vegetable plants with this solution as soon as the first signs of aphids appear.
Dissolve 1 liter of the product in 10 liters of warm water and stir. Add, if desired, 150-200 grams of vegetable oil to reliably fix the soap on the surfaces of plants, which will significantly increase the effectiveness of the product.
Treat all garden and vegetable plants where these pests have appeared with this solution.
It is advisable to spray the leaves of the plants from the underside, where the aphids are. Treat the plants once every 1.5 weeks.
