Why the cactus hasn't grown a centimeter in a year: the problem is in the roots

If the plant looks normal but does not grow, then it is time to sound the alarm and save the “green pet”.

Many gardeners face this problem, but the cause of the phenomenon is revealed too late. Often the plant can no longer be saved.

Cacti grow slowly. They grow in size slowly and bloom once a year.

Changes over 12 months are visible to the naked eye. If the succulent does not develop and is frozen in one state, then this is an alarming signal.

The problem lies in the roots. They are probably almost completely dead. But the above-ground part may look good: green, elastic, fresh.

Development stops because the dead roots do not feed the plant, there are no resources for growth. For some time, the cactus will live due to the substances that were stored in the green mass.

If the cactus does not increase in size, and this is not a varietal feature, then it is time to save the succulent.

In this case, the top of the viable cactus is cut off, the “top” of the diseased one is pressed against it and left in this form for 2 weeks.
