Peas are grown for winter storage and as an auxiliary crop. It is known that the plant improves the composition of the soil by releasing nitrogen.

Maybe that's why many people think that planting a useful crop is not worth paying much attention to. But you can't do without tricks in farming.

We will tell you what tricks in growing peas every gardener should know.

1. Pea seeds do not need to be sprouted, i.e. it is not necessary. It is enough to soak them briefly, no more than 12 hours in the most simple water. You can warm them up at a temperature of up to 25-30 degrees Celsius before planting for several days.

2. Planting is carried out in moist soil. This way the grains gradually swell and germinate. The planting depth is 3-5 cm with an interval of 3-4 cm, and the row spacing is 30-40 cm. Planting is carried out at a temperature of 7-10 degrees Celsius, but better at +15.

3. Legumes like fertile soil. If you add organic matter before planting, instead of pods there will be only tops, so these fertilizers are added under the previous crops. On poor soil in the fall, you can add humus under digging - 1-2 kg per square meter.

4. Nitrogen fertilizers for these crops are rarely applied during the growing season and only in poor soil. In general, peas are rarely fed.

5. It is much more important to provide supports, especially for tall varieties. But low-growing ones can also be grown in a flooring.

6. Pinching is recommended only for tall varieties, for additional branching and increased yield.

7. Harvesting begins 8-10 days after flowering ends. On the 12-15th day, tender green peas can still be collected, and denser grains can be obtained if the peas are left to grow longer.
