Slugs and snails are annoying pests in the garden. They usually settle in areas with a lot of moisture, clay soil and heavy earth.
We will tell you how you can easily get rid of these pests.
To prevent pests from infesting your property, you need to take preventive measures.
Mow the grass, dry out puddles in the garden beds if they stand for a long time, make compost pits a little further from the garden.
Dissolve a couple of teaspoons of iron sulfate in 2 liters of water. Spray the beds with this solution and protect the garden from slugs.
Slugs will avoid sharp barriers. Shake eggshells, large sawdust, nut husks or coarse sand around the garden bed. When mowing the grass, leave sharp stems around, such a barrier will not allow slugs to penetrate the garden.
Slugs cannot stand the smell of coffee, pepper, cinnamon. These ingredients should be mixed with sand.
In 1 liter of tea you can chop 5 pinches of hot pepper. Then boil for 5 minutes, and then leave to cool under the lid.
Spray the prepared solution where pests accumulate.
You can scatter horseradish or ginger root, wormwood or lavender over the beds.
Mix ash, lime, a mixture of mint and wormwood stems. Spread the mixture between the beds.
After rain, renew the mixture. You can wrap copper strips around the beds.
