By its nature, radish is an early-ripening crop, and is also the first of all vegetables to yield a harvest.

We will tell you what you need to consider in order to collect an early harvest of radishes in the new season and how to cope with sowing and care in the greenhouse. You just need to monitor the conditions.

Secrets of sowing

If we talk about the earliest harvest, then this is possible only with a capital greenhouse, and also in a well-lit part of the plot. It will be more difficult to grow an early harvest in a greenhouse. Therefore, it would be correct to talk not about the timing, but about the sowing conditions.

The room temperature should be 19 degrees Celsius during the day and not lower than 8 degrees Celsius at night. The soil should warm up to 12-13 degrees, humidity within 65-75%. As for lighting, this plant feels great in conditions of short daylight hours.

Under such conditions, seedlings will appear in 3-5 days after sowing.

Seed preparation

The seeds are placed in a weak solution of potassium permanganate for 15 minutes, then in a growth stimulator (Epin - 2 drops per 0.5 l of water) overnight. Then they are dried on a dry cloth and can be sown.

Soil preparation

In addition to temperature conditions, it is important to prepare the beds. The soil is dug up and fertilizers are added 13-14 days before sowing. Nitroammophoska is used as a fertilizer (1 teaspoon per 10 liters of water, consumption per 1 square meter).

If necessary, add river sand to loosen the soil (1 bucket per 1 square meter). Cover the soil with film 7-8 days before sowing so that it warms up faster.

The easiest way to sow seeds is with an egg tray. The cardboard grid is pressed shallowly into the ground, and the seeds are placed in the remaining holes.
