Strawberries have been cultivated by summer residents for so long that there are no surprises when growing them.

There are no particular problems, and the only innovations are perhaps interesting approaches to caring for the berry bush. Here, for example, is one such option - iodine treatment.

Let's try to figure out whether strawberries need iodine and what can come from such feeding or treatment.

Why do strawberries need iodine?

It is said that iodine affects fruiting, and also has antiseptic, antibacterial and fungicidal properties.

Therefore, it is used in cases of high risk of developing viral and fungal diseases.

But not only that – after adding the composition, it is easier for plants to absorb nitrogen, which is why it is recommended to add iodine fertilizer at the beginning of spring, when the bush is in the process of developing.

How to use

1. First you need to water it.

2. Then you need to pour 100 grams of pure wood ash with a liter of boiling water and let it brew for 5-7 minutes.

3. The concentrate must be diluted in 10 liters of water, stirred, and then 10 drops of iodine must be added.

After mixing, the solution is poured into a watering can and used for watering immediately after preparation.

After such feeding, the bushes grow noticeably faster and become more vibrant, and the quality of the harvest also improves and its quantity increases.
