What to Plant in Raspberries to Get Rid of Bed Bugs: Not a Single Berry Will Go to Waste

One of the most harmful enemies of raspberries is the bug, also known as the raspberry beetle, or shield bug. Whatever you call the pest, the effect of its presence is the same - it is impossible to eat the berries due to the unbearable smell.

Just one berry infested with bugs is worse than the proverbial fly in the ointment.

People's ingenuity helped find a way out of this difficult situation. It is not at all necessary to treat the entire berry patch with scary chemicals.

It is enough to plant one specific plant, which will take on the functions of a biological product and drive away the beetle.

Cimicifuga

People call this plant nothing other than bugbane. It is the natural and worst enemy of the beetle, but the most interesting thing is that it is a very attractive plant in appearance.

At the same time, it is absolutely harmless to people, animals and the environment in general.

Cimicifuga should be planted along raspberry bushes, between bushes or between rows.

The effect will not take long to appear. Bedbugs will not come to the site.

But if the moment has already been missed, you should prepare a solution of mustard powder, which is diluted in water in a ratio of 1:10.

The mixture is stirred and used for spraying.

Another option is an infusion of onion peel. It is simply poured with water, left to brew for 5 days, and then the concentrate is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:4 and used to spray plantings.
