First of all, it is worth saying that it is worth removing the cover when the daytime temperature is around -5 degrees for 5-7 days and then only increases.
This rule works if the roses were covered in one or more layers.
Remove the snow from the shelter and loosen the snow that is located next to the frame. When the temperature crosses the threshold of 0 degrees, the top layer should be removed, and the bottom layer should be slightly opened. You can completely get rid of the shelter in a few days, or better yet, weeks.
If you used an anthill type shelter, that is, you used a peat mound, the height of which is from 15 to 25 cm, you should not uncover the roses until the thermometer reaches +5 ... +7 degrees.
Carrying out the procedure too early, when the embankment is covered with a crust of ice, threatens to damage the roots and shoots.
Instead, wait until the temperature stabilizes and the buds swell. Then it's time to start hilling up the roses and loosening the soil so that the roots have access to air.
