The wireworm is less well-known than its “colleague” the Colorado potato beetle, but it causes no less harm.

A lot of remedies have been created against the striped one, many articles have been dedicated to them and many folk tricks have been invented.

Click beetle larvae receive much less attention. Therefore, the pest is in a kind of shadow and not many effective means have been found against it.

You can fight wireworms not only with the help of chemicals that are sold in garden stores.

You can also defeat the pest with a folk remedy. It is prepared from celandine, which many people have growing in their gardens.

First, you need to pick the celandine, possibly with the root. Then the greenery is chopped and poured with boiling water. For every 100 g of chopped grass, use 1 liter of water.

The liquid is infused for several hours, and then the resulting liquid is used to water the potato beds. For the wireworm, the infusion is worse than poison, so it will leave the root crops alone.
