If new “residents” have appeared in a flower pot, then it’s time to let the insects know that they are not welcome.

The sooner this is done, the faster the uninvited “guests” will leave the apartment or house.

A trick that was used in Soviet times will help with this. Now many housewives take it into service for a number of reasons: simple, effective and cheap.

How to get rid of midges in flowers

First of all, the plants are watered less often, the soil should dry out. Moist environments are very popular with midges.

Matches are also used. Florists plant them about 1-2 cm deep into the soil with their heads down. You can stick as many matches as there is room for. But the distance between them should be 5 cm.

Change the matches every 2 days. As the soil dries out, water the plants, because the goal is not to dry out the flowers themselves, but to make the soil drier.

Wood ash repels midges. Just sprinkle it on the soil and you will get a triple effect: insect repellent, removal of excess moisture and plant nutrition.
