Useful fertilizer
In no case should you put manure on the area under beets and carrots. This will give the vegetables an iodine taste, and they will change shape and color.
It is necessary to plant such a crop in an open, sunny place and observe the crop rotation period.
After 3-4 years, replanting of root crops is allowed. Peas, cabbage, early potatoes, cucumbers and onions can serve as predecessors of these crops. Thanks to their early harvest, it remains only to fertilize and loosen the soil.
The acidity of the soil can be eliminated with a lime mixture, so that you can then plant delicious beets and carrots.
So, it is necessary to fertilize in the fall during soil digging. To do this, take 0.3-0.5 kg of lime per 1 square meter with regular application - once every 6-8 years.
Methods for increasing the sugar content of root crops
Beets and carrots need to be fed in mid-summer during the formation of vegetables. To prepare mineral fertilizer, you need 30-40 grams of nitroammophoska per 10-12 liters of water. At the beginning of feeding, it is necessary to water the land with clean water, and then with fertilizer between the rows at the rate of 2-3 liters per 1 square meter.
These root crops are fed with manganese and boron as micronutrients, which raise sugar levels.
This solution should be made in a ratio of 1:10, add 1 teaspoon of boron and manganese to a bucket of water. It is necessary to water the rows with 2 liters of solution per 1 square meter, having previously watered the soil with clean water.
Wood ash is a nutritious concentrate of magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, manganese and other macro- and microelements.
Ash is added to the soil in small quantities, only 0.5 cups per 1 square meter, mixed with soil and watered.
Everyone knows about table salt, which is used to fertilize beets; the feeding procedure is carried out 3 times per season.
You can make such a mixture by adding 1 tablespoon of table salt and 1 cup of wood ash to a bucket of water. Standard consumption is 5 liters of mixture per 1 square meter of the plot.
At the end of summer, carrot beds are fertilized with boron. For the solution, take 1 liter of hot water, add 1 teaspoon of boric acid, stir until completely dissolved and pour into a bucket of water.
To prevent carrots from being damaged by carrot flies and to prevent them from being bitter, it is necessary to sprinkle the spaces between the rows with tobacco dust.
