Experienced gardeners have shared a trick that helps them protect indoor plants from pests.
Thrips are parasites that most often bother flowers on the windowsill. They feed on the juice contained in the leaves and buds.
Small pests are difficult to spot. Most often, their appearance is indicated by yellow spots on the buds, and black dots appear on the back of the leaves.
To get rid of pests, experienced gardeners use a vegetable with a pungent smell.
Garlic will repel thrips from indoor plants. Just peel and chop a few cloves, put them in a bowl and place them next to the pots.
An additional benefit of this trick is protection against viruses. During the season when acute respiratory viral infections are rampant, garlic is one of the effective folk remedies.
When there are a lot of thrips on flowers, gardeners use a more radical option. Crushed cloves are placed in a pot, the plant is covered, creating a vacuum for 30 minutes. Garlic will release phytoncides that will destroy the pests.
