If you do not take proper measures to store your garden tools, your hoes and shovels will most likely rust over the winter. The best way to store your tools is in a box with oiled river sand.

But if time is lost, then all that remains is to clean off the red plaque. We will tell you how to do it easier.

Method #1

Prepare a weak vinegar solution (water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio). Soak metal items in the solution for 24 hours. After that, the plaque can be removed by simply wiping the inventory with newspapers or a paper towel. In a critical case, the plaque will come off if you rub the surface with a metal sponge for dishes.

Method #2

Citric acid – a 3% solution – has a similar effect on corrosion. After processing and cleaning, the acid residues must be washed off.

Method #3

Strong black tea or cola show good results.

After soaking and cleaning, you need to sharpen the tools and disinfect them before use. Especially if we are talking about pruning shears, garden shears or saws. The simplest and most effective option is to treat the blades with an open flame.
