Petunia is one of the most colorful flowers that gardeners love to use to decorate their windows and balconies, as well as their summer cottages.

The plant is considered capricious and if we are talking about sowing seeds, then not every housewife manages to get strong sprouts. We will tell you how to make the work easier.

How to Grow Petunias Easily

How well everything will turn out is determined by the method of sowing the plant. The seeds of this crop are small and require attention when sowing.

Therefore, you need to act like this:

  • prepare a container and be sure to provide reliable drainage;
  • the soil for sowing petunias needs to be loose so that air and moisture can penetrate well;
  • after this, you need to lightly moisten the soil and cover it with 2-3 cm of snow;
  • Petunia seeds are already being distributed on top of the snow.

Sowing on snow allows for even distribution of seeds, which will determine the quality of the seedlings.

After this, the container is covered with cling film, left in a room with a temperature of 23-25 degrees Celsius and necessarily in a well-lit place.

The soil with seeds should be under cover for 1-2 weeks. Remove the film gradually, observing how the shoots react.

It is important to maintain comfortable conditions for the plant. This may take up to 3 days.

Watering is done from a sprayer, syringe or teaspoon. The first 20 days the shoots will develop slowly, but then the situation will change.

As soon as the seedlings start growing, they are picked. Using this technique, it can take 2.5-3 months to grow flowers.
