Royally stately gladioli can decorate any bouquet, so you should not give up growing flowers on your plot.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh revealed the secret of planting gladioli for their long flowering.
As is known, gladiolus corms should be removed from where they were stored 3-4 weeks before planting – usually at the beginning of April.
They need to be cleaned and left alone, laid out in a light (but not sunny) place.
At the end of April, gladioli babies should be placed in the ground, choosing a sunny area for them.
After 1-2 weeks, already in May, you can begin planting the corms.
Thanks to such a simple planting scheme, you will be able to enjoy the flowering of gladioli throughout the season - from July until the onset of frost.
In addition, do not forget about the varieties: the first ones to be planted in the soil are the early and mid-season varieties, while the late varieties, together with more mature bulbs, should be planted second.
