If a once lush and strong dracaena has begun to wither and die, then you cannot delay – you need to save the plant.
First of all, you need to check the root system. Most likely, the underground part of the plant has begun to rot.
The main reason is over-watering. In such an environment, favorable conditions are created for fungi. The only way to save the dracaena from death is to replant it.
First, you need to prepare a new pot and soil. Gardeners recommend disinfecting the soil. This can be done by freezing, calcining, steaming, or treating it with a solution of potassium permanganate.
Next, the dracaena is removed from the old soil and the roots are thoroughly washed. The rotten parts are removed with pruning shears. They are cut 2-3 cm more than necessary.
Then you need to disinfect the roots. To do this, prepare a solution of potassium permanganate - 1 g of the product per 3 liters of water. After disinfection, the cut sites are treated with wood ash. Then it remains to transplant the dracaena to a new place and water it.
