It has long been the custom that the beginning of a new year coincides with the beginning of a new planting season for summer residents.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed the plants that need to be sown for seedlings with the arrival of January.

First of all, you should hurry up with sowing perennials that require stratification.

These include delphinium, primrose, ranunculus, hellebore, lavender, columbine, lupine and clematis.

Since without stratification there is a high probability that you will never see any seedlings, do not forget to put the crops of the listed plants in the refrigerator (freezer) for a period of two weeks to a month.

In addition, it is time to sow berry crops, namely strawberries and wild strawberries.

By sowing early, you can get a harvest in the first year. Although growing them from seeds is quite problematic, it is worth hoping for the best with the help of boiling water and stratification.

In addition, January is a good time for sowing seedlings and some annual plants.

Among them are eustoma, tuberous and ever-flowering begonias. From the second half of January comes the time for shabo carnation, pelargonium, verbena, coleus, catharanthus and gazania.
