There are all sorts of rumors about fertilizing garlic. The crop is not at all capricious, but garlic may show its disdain for fertilizers that other vegetables respond to with pleasure, and the harvest will leave much to be desired.
We will tell you about the important points of fertilizing garlic in spring and summer.
Winter garlic sprouts are the first to appear in gardens, if you don't count the weeds. As soon as the first green leaves appear, you need to add nitrogen.
1. To do this, add 1 tablespoon of urea to one bucket of water, stir and water. If you miss the moment, the garlic may turn yellow.
2. Or prepare a mullein infusion, which will take two weeks. One part of manure is diluted in 5 parts of water. The finished concentrate is diluted with water 1:10 before use.
As for yeast feeding, it should be considered more as a growth stimulant.
After two weeks, the emphasis should be shifted towards potassium and phosphorus.
To do this, you can mix potassium chloride with urea.
If you use mullein infusion, you can add nitroammophoska – 2 tbsp. per bucket of water.
It is carried out during the period of garlic head formation. Phosphorus is needed.
For this purpose, superphosphate and wood ash (or potassium sulfate) are used.
Or just ash, which can be used to feed garlic at any time.
If you spray, you can compensate for the lack of nitrogen using a urea solution. The treatment is carried out in the evening.
If the foliage has become lighter, it is time to add potassium, for which a solution of potassium salt or ash is prepared.
