Agree – saying goodbye to the gorgeous roses that make up a bouquet a few days after purchasing it is a bit sad.

Fortunately, the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh knows a way to avoid negative emotions.

Instead of waiting for flowers to lose their petals and end up in the trash, try rooting them.

To do this, you should select branches whose inflorescences have not yet begun to fade. The leaves should be green, and there should be no brown areas along the entire length of the stem.

After removing the bud, make a cut just above the node (the point where the old woody stem and the young flexible shoot join).

You will have to work with the very same woody base of the stem, from which you need to remove all the leaves, with the exception of two or three branches of leaves.

The end of the stem should be cut at an angle of 45 degrees, and shallow cuts should be made on the sides of the lower part of the stem (scratches will suffice).

After this, you can place the cutting in a container filled with water. Make sure that the leaves do not fall into the water.

You should start planting cuttings in the ground when you see roots on the seedlings.
