Green manure made from grass is used not only to increase crop yields, but also to protect crops from pests.

According to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , it is not always possible to correctly calculate the required volume of fertilizer.

In this case, the gardener has several options.

For example, the grass mass that remains after preparing the infusion can be used as mulch. After you spread the grass on the beds, be sure to water them thoroughly.

Leftover fertilizer will also be welcome in the compost heap.

In addition to the fact that compost, which includes green fertilizer, will be enriched with substances useful for plants, the speed of its maturation will increase.

If you are thinking about making a new batch of the nutritious mixture, you can use the leftovers as a kind of starter.

If fertilizer residues remain until autumn, apply them to empty beds – this will increase soil fertility and improve its composition.
