Why does cabbage wither and dry up after planting in the ground: pests at work

As gardeners who have been growing cabbage for several years may have noticed, white cabbage seedlings that have just “moved” to the garden bed wither in 100% of cases.

However, there is good news - according to the expert of the online publication "Belnovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , after 7-10 days the bushes are restored and continue to develop in a new place.

But there are specimens that, unlike their fellows, wither, dry up and disappear.

One of the reasons that can lead to death is the attack of insect pests.

If the leaves of plants acquire a purple tint, their tops droop, and some bushes fall over, the culprit is the small (or spring) cabbage fly.

If you notice tiny (about 6 mm) grey flies or signs of their activity in the beds, you will have to get rid of the affected bushes.

Those that remain in the beds must be treated using diazinon-based preparations, for example, Zemlin, Mukhoed, Terradox and others.

The product should be scattered near the plants in accordance with the instructions, after which the soil should be loosened.
