It has recently become known that the National Bank of Belarus has decided to extend the calculated standard risk values (CRVS) in effect since August.
This means that they will also be relevant during the next month – October.
The regulator's press service reported this, recalling the RFSR figures for loans for individuals and legal entities.
Thus, for new loans in rubles for organizations (except for preferential ones), the RVR is 12.5% per annum.
For new ruble loans for individuals (except for preferential ones), the value is 17.71% per annum.
It should be added that the calculated values of standard risk are used to ensure financial stability.
In particular, they act as a limiting factor on the upper limit of interest rates.
It is calculated as follows: the average level of rates of systemically important banks plus a certain premium (a measure of dispersion).
As a result, financial and credit institutions receive a signal level, the excess of which, in the opinion of the National Bank, taking into account market data, may indicate high-risk behavior.
In principle, such actions are not prohibited, but to do so, banks must meet additional capital and reserve requirements to provide a kind of insurance in the event of difficulties.
