The state will fulfill all social obligations next year.
This was stated by the head of the Belarusian government, Roman Golovchenko, commenting on the draft budget.
The Prime Minister's statement is quoted by BELTA .
As the Prime Minister explained, the budget was formed with a deficit of 1.6% of the gross domestic product.
According to Golovchenko, when forming the budget, conservative-pessimistic forecasts are taken as a basis so that there is room for maneuver: if the economy performs better, the deficit will be closed, if not, there will be optimization of budget expenditures.
But the state will certainly implement all social program projects, the head of government assured.
According to him, even in the conditions of a planned budget deficit, an increase in spending on education by 14% and on healthcare by 12% is planned.
New kindergartens, schools, and health care institutions will be built. Family capital will increase.
The volume of housing construction will not only be maintained, we have allocated more funds for this, the Prime Minister said.
He noted that the vast majority of countries in the world live in conditions of actual budget deficits, and in the United States the budget deficit is $2 trillion.
In the European Union, Golovchenko continued, the budget deficit threshold under the Maastricht Treaty is 3% of GDP, but in 2023 a number of countries went beyond this limit, including developed economies – France, Italy, Belgium, Poland.
Compare this with our planned figures – 1.6% of GDP, ” added the head of government.
