Analysts at the Eurasian Development Bank recorded October inflation in Belarus at 5.9%, after six percent in September.
This is stated in their latest weekly review of the economic situation in the countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The material was published on the official EDB Telegram channel.
The bank's experts say that the main reason for the rise in prices in Belarus is "the rise in cost of unregulated services."
According to their data, inflation in the services sector rose to 6% in October, while the previous month the figure was 5.6%.
In turn, the price increase for services in the EDB is explained by a significant increase in labor costs and a high level of consumer demand.
Attention is drawn to the continued acceleration of core inflation in the republic, which reached 5.3% in October after 5.1% in September and 4.8% in August.
In the goods segment, inflation remained moderate due to the impact of price regulation measures, the publication says.
And inflation in the food basket amounted to 7.2% in October after 7.5% in September.
In this regard, analysts cite the reduction in vegetable prices as the key factor.
As for non-food products, they note a slight slowdown in inflation – to 4.1% in October after 4.2% the month before.
