As Muradyan explained, in Turkey old dollars (newer than 2006) are accepted for exchange without restrictions, but a reduced rate may be applied.

In Egypt and Cuba, old dollars are also accepted quite freely.

However, the banknote should not be too dirty, torn, worn or have obvious defects, warned the ATOR vice president.

When visiting the Maldives, you should take 2013 dollars, although some hotels accept 2009 and older banknotes.

In the UAE, old dollars may not be accepted or exchanged at a rate 5-10% lower than the official one.

In Thailand, old dollars are accepted at a discount. In Sri Lanka, even dollars from 1996 and later are relatively freely accepted.

But in some cases, exchangers apply a discount of about 5%, Muradyan clarified.

Qatar and China do not accept dollars older than 2013.
