Bill Gates is one of the most famous people on the planet, whose success story is striking in its ambiguity and uniqueness.
Gates comes from a good family, where his father was a lawyer, his grandfather was a vice president of a bank, and his great-grandfather was a senator. In addition to him, his two sisters were raised in the family. The family tried to give him the best, including the best education.
He studied at one of the best schools in Washington, the Lakeside School, where ordinary people could not get in. It was at this educational institution that Gates' career in programming began. Even in his school years, studying in the 8th grade, he developed his first program at the age of 13.
It was a game called "Tic Tac Toe". At the school he met Paul Allen, who was a year older than him. And soon together they hacked the computer program SSS, for which they were forbidden to work on computer devices during the entire summer holidays.
The guys offered the company a mutually beneficial partnership: they would search for errors in the company's software, and the company would allow them to work on its computers. They collaborated with the company until 1970, when it ceased to exist.
Poor performance in many humanities subjects did not prevent him from continuing his education. Gates entered Harvard University in 1973, where he met his future partner Steve Ballmer. The university expelled Gates after 2 years of study, but later, in 2007, awarded him a diploma for his achievements in the field of programming, and even a doctorate.
In 1975, Gates and Allen created the company Microsoft, which was initially written as Micro-Soft, but since 1976 it has acquired the well-known name without a hyphen. In 1981, they created the world-famous operating system MS-DOS. And in 1985, they created the very first Windows.
Already at the age of 31, in 1993, Gates earned his first billions and became the richest American according to Forbes magazine. In addition to his career, Bill was very involved in charity, for which he was named Person of the Year by Times magazine in 2005.
Despite the fact that Bill Gates did not graduate from university and was a rather mediocre student even at school, this did not prevent him from becoming a true genius in his field and making a splash in the field of programming. Thanks to his work, we still have the opportunity to work in the Windows operating system.
