Belarus approves draft law on republican budget for 2025: what are the priorities
At the meeting of the second session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, the draft law “On the republican budget for 2025” was approved.
The press service of the upper house of parliament reported this on its official Telegram channel.
It is noted that, according to the document, the republican budget revenues for 2025 are expected to be 45,835.8 million rubles.
This figure is 8.1% higher than the estimated level of revenue for the current year.
It is stated that the increased volume of budget revenues is explained not only by one factor of the country's economic growth.
Special measures “within the framework of budget consolidation” play a significant role in this, including:
– indexation of tax rates set in absolute values based on the projected index of consumer price growth;
– increase in excise rates;
– expansion of tax bases;
- cancellation of ineffective tax breaks.
As for the republican budget expenditures, the estimated volume for 2025 is 50,295.2 million rubles (+12% compared to the 2024 estimate).
The priorities in this regard for budget policy for the next year are:
– social sphere;
– increase in salaries;
– ensuring national security;
– support for the real sector of the economy.
According to the head of the Council of the Republic Natalia Kochanova, the republican budget was formed in a balanced manner.
