Belarus turned out to be one of the European leaders in terms of cheap electricity for the population.
In this indicator, our country is second only to Kazakhstan and Russia.
But electricity prices in Europe are highest in Denmark.
Such interesting data is published on the website of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus.
The department emphasized that the fact that the republic is among the top 3 European countries with the cheapest electricity indicates success in implementing the policy for the development of the national fuel and energy complex.
As noted by the Ministry of Economy, Belarus has other achievements related to the above-mentioned industry.
Thus, much has been done over the past decades to gasify the country. At present, all regional centers, cities and urban-type settlements of Belarus, as well as several thousand rural settlements, are supplied with gas.
Four years ago, the Belarusian NPP was put into operation. Thanks to the implementation of this project, the republic has become much less dependent on imported fuel.
Renewable energy is also developing in our country. Over the past decade and a half, its share in the total volume of electricity production has increased several times.
