On September 1, the salaries of public sector employees changed in Belarus.
Another increase in the base rate has been made, which is already happening for the second time this year.
BELTA reports on the changes with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
According to the government decision, the base rate has been increased from September 1 and is Br 253.
This is the second increase in the estimated value that has occurred this year.
Previously, the rate was increased on January 1, 2024, and compared to last year, in 2024 the increase in the base rate is 9%.
The increase in the base rate will affect all public sector employees. In Belarus, this is more than 800 thousand people.
As a result, the average monthly salary of public sector employees increased by 18.4% over 7 months and amounted to Br 1711 (compared to the same period in 2023).
The growth rate of real wages is 112%.
The salaries of teaching staff are growing at a faster rate and have increased by 25% compared to last year, while those of teachers have increased by 29%.
This is the main element of the tariff system on the basis of which public sector workers are paid.
Incentive and compensatory payments depend on the size of the base.
