What are the disadvantages of bio-fireplaces: you should know about them before buying

Many people who want to enjoy beauty and warmth include a stylish and atmospheric bio-fireplace in the interior of their apartments.

It consists of a fuel tank with bioethanol (ethyl alcohol with additives) inside. During the combustion reaction, water and carbon dioxide are released, but soot, carbon black and other harmful substances are not formed.

But along with the advantages, of which bio-fireplaces, frankly speaking, are many, these devices also have their disadvantages, says the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino.

Fire risk

The flame in the bio-fireplace is real, so if you are careless with the fire, there is a risk of fire. Therefore, do not forget about caution, especially if there are small children or pets at home.

Lack of heat

A bio-fireplace cannot be called a full-fledged heating device - it is rather a decorative accessory. You should not count on the device being able to heat an apartment.

High price of biofuels

Biofuel will cost you a pretty penny if you intend to use the fireplace at maximum power 24 hours a day.

Dry air

The consequences of using a bio-fireplace are dry air and stuffiness in the room. However, this problem can be easily solved if you choose the right device based on the area of the room and open the windows in a timely manner for ventilation.
