Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino told what tricks they resort to in the West to give their homes a stylish, beautiful and neat look.

Use the space under the ceiling

If your ceilings allow it, increase the height of your living space by creating a mezzanine second floor.

Here you can place a mini-office, library, dressing room, bedroom and even a nursery - the main thing is to get the appropriate permission.

Combine functional areas

Intricate turns and narrow corridors take away valuable square meters from owners of small apartments.

To make your home more spacious, follow the example of Europeans, who often refuse partitions, making an exception only for the bathroom and toilet.

Reduce the kitchen area

Since Europeans do not practice large gatherings in the kitchen, this room as such is often missing from their apartments, as it is combined with the living room to create a studio.

In the same case, if the kitchen has nevertheless won a separate room for itself, the main area in the room is allocated to a large dining area, while the cooking area is modestly crammed into the corner.

Choose a single color and style

In the West, as was said earlier, they prefer not to use partitions, so in European apartments there is a single space. Of course, it is decorated in a single style.

Thanks to such a simple design solution, living spaces become more comfortable and harmonious.
