Stucco and multi-level ceilings: design techniques that will turn cleaning into torture

No one argues: two-level ceilings and beautiful stucco look truly luxurious, however, only if all this splendor is present in a large, bright and spacious apartment, decorated in a classic style.

There is one more but: as the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, told us, such elements cannot boast of practicality.

A large amount of dust settles on them: about the same amount as on a cabinet or work desk.

And while there are no particular problems with cleaning furniture, putting the ceiling in order is much more difficult.

If you don’t consider it necessary to get your hands dirty and leave everything as is, but at the same time regularly ventilate the rooms, be prepared for the fact that some dust will be in the air every now and then.

It is true that stucco is easier to clean, but not by much: to do this, you will have to regularly use a wet squeegee equipped with a long handle.

A dry broom will only scatter dust everywhere.

What to do? The best solution is to minimize bulky wall finishes and abandon the idea of installing light cornices and boxes in the apartment. But you can leave the backlight on the walls - this way you can avoid dust accumulation on convex elements.
