At the same time, lambrequins also have a significant drawback, which makes them similar to decorative cornices.
In both cases, the room becomes visually lower.
Lambrequins attract attention, causing the gaze to involuntarily turn to the ceiling.
As a result, the low ceiling height becomes even more noticeable due to the fact that horizontal drapery visually “cuts” the distance from the floor to the ceiling, thereby shortening it.
This is why it is recommended to avoid using lambrequins – they are completely unsuitable for rooms with low ceilings.
When you really want to add a lambrequin to your window, you should choose an option made from lightweight materials that will create a feeling of airiness.
Then the drapery will not weigh down the curtain composition so much, and the ceiling will not look lower.
