No carpet
Don't think that a large carpet looks out of place in a small and narrow room - this accent on the floor is simply necessary so that the eye has something to catch on. If you don't lay a rug on the floor, the window will become the center of the composition, and this will only emphasize the unsuccessful geometry of the room.
Therefore, the designer advises to decorate the room so that it has two functional centers. The easiest way to do this is with a carpet of a contrasting color - either a single color or with horizontal stripes, which will visually expand the space.
All the walls are the same color
Total white or any other light color will not solve the problem of a narrow room.
Use the accent wall technique. To visually expand the room, make the narrow wall near the window contrasting and complement it with a dark floor, and leave the ceiling and side walls light.
Another option is to paint one of the long walls in a contrasting color or cover it with bright wallpaper with an accent pattern or design.
Laminate flooring along the room
If you lay the floor so that the pattern runs parallel to the long wall, you will make the room visually even narrower.
Therefore, lay the laminate not lengthwise, but across the room – this way the space will look wider and more proportional.
