Decorative joining of floor coverings: how designers feel about this technique in interior design
Who came up with the idea of joining floor coverings of different textures and colors in the form of wavy or zigzag lines will probably remain unknown.
However, according to designer Yulia Tychino , an expert at the online publication BelNovosti, it has long been clear that this approach looks at least strange.
The fixing plastic strips, thresholds, decorative dividing paths “like wood” and other similar elements look especially ridiculous.
The only option where such a solution is considered acceptable is a small summer house.
To decorate such buildings, as a rule, leftover materials are used, and the structure itself does not pretend to be a designer approach.
But if we are talking about an apartment, then such solutions look unprofessional and unaesthetic – even if they are recommended by an experienced interior designer.
This trend is not the only one on the list of outdated techniques that, nevertheless, just won’t go away.
The designer also included the creation of a “palace” interior with an abundance of gold and stucco, as well as uncontrolled decoration.
